Nothing too eventual today. Started early with a BART ride to SFO. Plane ride was fairly uneventful; they had individual entertainment systems for each coach seat, with about 50 movies to choose from and great music channels and games. Both Cade and I watched “Hancock” (4 put of 5 stars by Cade an I), but didn’t watch anything else. Interesting that when you have limited choices you’ll watch the movies, but with so many choices it just didn’t seem that interesting.
First thing we noticed getting off the plane is the humidity, and Cade’s observation that they celebrate Christmas in the summer. We also immediately filled the sink in our room to watch the water drain the opposite way (my first time in southern hemisphere too).
The picture here is the view looking back at the airport from our hotel. Can you see how many people are inside the airport? I think everyone in Lima was returning home from Xmas holiday tonight.
We’ll be up early for our flight to Cuzco. Shutting it down tonight, but I’ll finish this post off with a great quote I read in the book I’m reading, “Flow” by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi:
“The ability to persevere despite obstacles and setbacks is the quality people most admire in others, and justly so; it is probably the most important trait not only for succeeding in life, but for enjoying it as well.”
